By Shane Z

Wondering why your Skype freezes on constant intervals? Why you cannot connect to a Skype call? There are various reasons of Skype freezing in Windows operating system. At the same time number of solutions are there but you have to identify what exactly is causing Skype to freeze so randomly.

Skype may freeze when:

> There is bad Internet Connection
> Different physical components are not properly connected or there is problem in components.
> Corrupted Windows registry

First of all you should ensure whether the problem is because of Internet connection. If you have problem in connection then quickly talk to your Internet Service Provider and seek help.

Now the next step is to check each physical component (web cam, sound, video). For instance you may check your web cam by switching USB port In and Out. Sound could be tested by Windows voice recognizer/recorder.

1. Click on Start button.
2. All Programs.
3. Accessories.
4. Entertainment.
5. Now click on Sound recorder.

Similarly you can check the video by various tools available on Internet. If this is reason behind Skype freezing then you have to replace the video card.

Well if none of above fixes your issue then you have an option to reinstall the application again.

To do this, perform the following steps.

1. Click on start button.
2. Go to Control Panel.
3. Click on Add or Remove Programs.
4. From the list choose Skype and remove it.
5. Done.

Last but not least, after you reinstall the application you have to scan your Windows registry for corrupted or damaged entries. Corruption within your registry keys, registry classes, and registry settings are the most common causes of application freezing including the Skype freezes. Registry is that database where operating system stores all computer setting. So, you have to scan and repair it on regular basis.
