Kingston and Sandisk 4gb Mini Sdhc Cards

By Brian Hopkin

In this review we have tried to highlight the basic terminology and some basic knowledge one should be aware of before purchasing any memory cards. These days every other digital device which stores any form of data has a memory card feature and you will find this guide helpful if you find it hard to understand the tech-lingo.

Kingston and Sandisk brings 4gb mini sdhc cards with huge capacity of multimedia content storage with optimum performance, available in three classes. They are Compatible with miniSDHC and SDHC host devices. These cards come with an adapter that turns them into full-size SDHC cards.

Capacity

This card is able to provide fast speed and large capacity needs such as digital imaging, music and video record/playback functions as well as mobile television and video games. The 4GB capacity can store up to more than 2,000 high-resolution pictures, more than 1,000 digital songs or up to 8 hours of MPEG 4 video.

Speed

SanDisk's Mini SDHC product is a class 2 device: it delivers a minimum data transfer speed of 2MBps while the Kingston Mini SDHC product is a class 4 device with a minimum data transfer speed of 4MBps.

Compatibility Issues

Remember, SD High Capacity (SDHC) card is the new SD memory card based on the SDA 2.00 specification, introduced by the SD Card Association. This new SDA 2.00 specification enables SD cards to reach higher capacities - 4GB-32GB. Because SDHC works differently then standard SD cards, this new format is not backwards compatible with legacy SD format host devices.

For compatibility check, look for the SDHC logo on cards and host devices (mobile phones, cameras, camcorders, etc.)
